Measure the flatness and the relative parallelism of two connected flanges
This Method is called: “The Combined Laser Point and Bearing Method for Flange Parallelism”. This is a patent pending method belonging to Status Pro.
The method uses the standing beam of the T310 transmitter detected by a dual axis Receiver (R525) to reproduce a second rotating reference plane. It is a great combination of traditional measurement craftsmanship and modern laser technology.

you don’t need a pentaprism
you can use a rotating beam
you don’t have to adjust the laser from point to point
it offers symmetrical measurements
Measurement of flatness and flange parallelism on wind towers
With the Status Pro Flange package, when measuring the flatness and/or twist on circular planes for flanges, you do not have to adjust your reference laser plane parallel to the flange plane.
This makes your measuring task very easy and practical for your flange application. Measure as many points as you like in any order. Use a 3 point reference, or use a best fit mode to calculate the least amount of correction. All of your measurements are displayed in 3-D color. You can rotate the 3D image to get the best view.
Required Hardware
We recommend the use of the R310 single axis receiver,
a R525 dual axis receiver and the T310 rotating laser with ProFlangeV2 software
formeasuring the Flatness and Parallelism of
Flanges.
